Here was Delaney's message card from Grandma Nedra. We thought that they recorded it at their house one day, you can hear Grandpa Larry and Blake for sure. haha. Emery thought it was funny.
Here are all the kids at her party, they decorated cupcake cones and then had a big pool party. It was around 100 deg. that day so the pool was a must. Thanks to all who came.

Here are the fruits of Delaney and Cooper, and Mom's Labor with the tomato plant. Watering it every day, they finally got a tomato.

Well, time flies for sure, it only seems like 4 months ago that Emery was born and here it is a whole year. She has grown up so much and is so much fun to have around. On her birthday she had Gma and Gpa Hudson visit and we had cake and a good time.
She loves her new baby that crawls and her noise makers. She had a ball eating the slice of her cake and as you can see got it all over her. The oinking pig from Gma Nedra was so funny and the clothes look so cute on her. Thanks everyone for making her First birthday so special.

Black Eye and A Mountain.

When we picked Cooper up from staying the weekend with his Buddy Justice, here is how he looked. Like a big bruiser. Him and Justice had a head on collision from running around like wild men. I guess it was a head-eye collision. It is good he has his buddies to play with and be "BOYS" with.

Saturday, we went to visit "A" Mountain on the south east side of Tucson. (kind of like the "Y" in Provo or the "P" in Payson if you are from Utah) The views were great and you can see the whole valley. It was an adventure.

Summer Begins

Well, summer has begun and the kids are already for it. They have been doing chores and helping out. This way they can earn time to play the wii and watch tv. It's amazing what motivates kids.

They also got haircuts today for summer. They both seem happy about it....Now. (Cooper hates his hair cut) I wish Grandpa Larry were here to do it, Cooper doesn't cry when he cuts it.

Yuma weekend in Prison

last weekend we went to visit the Thompsons in Yuma. We had a great time. We went to see their new buisness, the Treehouse. a kids wonderland of play where parents can drop of the kids for daycare by the hour. Then we went to the Yuma Prison to see where all the old criminals were sent back in the old days. as you can see from the pictures, it was a pretty rough place. Thanks Chris and Edna for the great time!!

While Delaney was at school today, we took her bed and dresser out and moved it into her new bedroom, the back patio. There she can wake up in the morning with the sound of morning doves cooing and the neighbor walking his dog. The cool evening breezes will whisp her to sleep at night. We will lock the back gate of course. Anyway, while we were making the move, Cooper said, “Delaney is going to be Mad when she gets home”. All the while Maria and I are laughing it up.
Well, when she got home from school this was her reaction. I think she likes it.

Sweet Emery!

Here are some sweet pictures of our Emery. She is getting so big and has the best smile. She is so close to crawling we are starting to get scared. the calm before the storm, and she is making sounds and talking in her baby talk a lot. She even will wave to you when you are coming and going.

Here are some photos of the kids this last week . Cooper and I went to an army store and this guy was standing outside the front door. I think the sun was a little bright for Coop.

Since Delaney is a big fan of Extreme Makeover: Home edition, we decided to go check out the house while it was under construction here in Tucson. It was pretty exciting and we got to see a couple of the celeb "designers" running around NOT doing anything to help the building of the house be doing a lot of showboating for us spectators. She loved it.

Utah Trip

Well, we went to Utah for the Holidays and had a wonderful time in the snow and cold. The kids loved playing in the snow, sleding, and making a snowman. We enjoyed having a "White Christmas". It was so good to see our families and to visit with everyone. Sickness prevented us from doing everything on our list but we still had a great time. The drive home was a LONG one with driving on black ice in a snow storm, to taking the road to Laughlin to avoid the 2.5 hour delay at hoover dam. But we are back home and all unpacked and ready for the new year!! Let's hope for the best.

Merry Christmas everyone. This year as I was putting up the lights, I was STRUCK with the Christmas spirit. I think it might have been the extra strand of lights I put up that did it. I think it is a great time to be happy, and a great way to feel happy is making others feel happy. Strive this Christmas to bring happiness into the lives of others. No matter how big or small it is, it will always work.

Cooper's Birthday

It was Cooper's 5th birthday this week and we celebrated it by going to the Zoo at night to see the Christmas lights with his friends. He wanted a Doughnut cake with green frosting on it. Yumm. We had a great time and later that week we went to the ball park and launched rockets. We had a good time and even tested out our own "plastic zip-loc bag" parachute for the landing. We decided it worked better than the real parachute. It was awesome. Happy Birthday Coop!!

Thanksgiving Dinner

This Thanksgiving we were home at our house with just our family. We cooked the perfect Bird and had all the fixin's we like. and we even ate our last leftovers on the saturday after. Coope was happy he got a turkey leg as you can see. We are so thankful for all our Family, Friends, and Blessings.

So, it is my dream to keep the excitement and tradition of watching the Lord of the Rings movies each December ever since the movies came out alive. We had a small gathering last year for the 1st annual party and hope to grow it even more every year (and hope my living room grows as well).
All those in the realm of this blog and email, are summoned to join in the adventure! Costumes are welcomed but NOT required, (I am a geek, but not that geeky yet, haha)

We will start by watching the Fellowship of the ring this Friday and then set up times to watch the other films. Suggestions are welcome. One thought was to have it outside and project the movie on a large screen or the side of a house.

Golfing!!

WES: Well, today Delaney played her first round of 9 holes of golf. She did great and was the talk of the course among the old men. Whenever she was in the fairway hitting and a group of players passed by they would stop and watch her hit and cheer her on. She hit consistently straight and pretty much 50 to 60 feet with every shot. We may have a future Paula Creamer on our hands.

She even drove the cart...a little.

DELANEY: Today when I played golf it was really fun! It took a pretty long time but at least I still got through it fine.

When I hit, most of the time it was pretty far, but sometimes I only hit the ground, not the ball. The hardest hole for me was the 9th hole because there was a stream. (but there was no water in it.) On the 9th hole for my dad, was a swamp and there was water in it. I think I did pretty well for my first time.

Halloween Fun!!

Here are some pictures of our Halloween Fun times.

We went to the "Trader Joe's" pumpkin patch this year which was a 3 min. drive from our house. They painted pumpkins, had cookies and picked out great looking ones to carve at home. They Loved carving them and it was interesting to see Cooper react to "gutting" the insides of his pumpkin. He kept saying to me, "dad, will I need some gloves" or "will you get me a towel". They loved getting messy, I think.

Then, for Halloween we went classic with the kids. Delaney was a witch, Cooper was a vampire and Emery was the Chili Pepper, with Maria as the Chili Pepper Farmer. I went as a Comic Convention geek, (which I am afraid I am, because not only do I own all the accessories for my costume, but as I was looking for a comic shirt to wear, I found I had to choose from the 6 in my closet...Yikes)

Anyway, Coopers Makeup was the best, with his Goatee and side burn "Chops" he looked awesome. And Delaney's tights and broom were just the right look for the best "and maddest" witch around. Emery and Maria were a hit as well, but Emery had her usual look of, "what are these people doing to me now? I why are my legs stuck this way".

We went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood with some of our good friends and their kids who all looked great as well. Fun stuff.

Here are some photos of the new coffee table I designed and built with the shop, tools, and help of my friend Jason . He is a sculptor that does some awesome work.

Our old table from Ikea finally gave out from Cooper and his buddies jumping off it and making the legs wobble and break. This table was built for that in mind. haha.

Labor Day in Phoenix!

This labor day we took a trip to Phoenix. We went to Ikea and got some chairs for Wes' office and then went to Bajio, because we were craving it so, since ours left us. Then we stopped at the Mesa Temple to walk around the grounds and go to the visitor's center. It was really fun and Delaney and Cooper had fun posing for "Wedding Pictures".

We took Emery out to get in the pool for the first time. She wasn't too sure about it all but after she got in she loved it. The photos don't really show her loving it but she was smiling after awhile. haha.

Well, after two and a half years of dragging my feet with scouts i finally did it. I broke down and bought a scout uniform. I don't know why it took me so long but there it is. I think I was holding out for the new style shirt. yeah, that's it. Anyway, I hope everyone gets a good laugh out of this......Maria is still laughing. Sheesh.

So Emery is starting to smile latley which is a good thing because we were starting to wonder if she wanted to. She is a very serious girl and often has the look of "This is NOT what I signed up for!" on her face. Delaney and Cooper can get her to smile very easy and she smiles at her parents too. "Feww, she likes us too."

1st day of school

Delaney is now a 3rd grader. Wow!! She got all ready with her new outfit from Grandma Kim, her new hair-do and her newly lost tooth! Her classmates told her they could barely recognize her.

We are all excited for the new school year so we can get back on our regular schedule.

Comic Con week.....(Dang you Bookmans!!)

Well, this is the week comic con kicks off in San Diego, and even worse today is "Starwars Day". So I am a little bitter because this was the year I was meant to go "nerd out" with all the other Sci-Fi, fantasy, comic book and movie geeks in a flight of imagination bliss.
But no, my chance at an all expense paid trip was dashed when Bookmans held their contest to re-invent Bookman, which I entered. I am not saying mine was the best entry, but it was a heck of a lot better than the grand prize winner’s entry. Oh well, dang them and dang Bookmans…Dang them all to heck!! Hahaha.
Next year, there is nothing stopping me!!

Cooper is very excited with his new Hulk Shirt, and he is now officially (this week) "Luke Skywalker". He is showing off his Jedi moves.

Delaney's front tooth is missing

It took some blood, sweat, and lots of tears but Delaney pulled her tooth out on Saturday.

She was brave and looks really cute with a hole in her mouth.

They also did a puppet show with their Knee People. Things are never dull around here.

Well, She is here. Emery Taylor Christensen.

Born: 6-2-08 at 1:40 pm.

7 lbs. 1 oz. 19 inches long.

She is the cutest little girl that has more dark hair than both her siblings had at birth.

Both her and Maria are doing great. It was a pretty easy delivery (thank you epidural) and everything went smoothly.

She purrs like a little kitty while she sleeps and it is soo cute. (see video link)

Bookman Comic

Here is my submission for Bookman for a local Comicbook competition.

His Story:

Brock Jones was a quiet, hardworking, employee of the Arizona phenomenon known as Bookmans. He kept to himself, and mostly stocked the books during the day. He was a friendly worker but all the while he was watching for suspicious activity caused by the evil “Dr. Binder” and his sidekick the beautiful yet cunning “Censor”. Together they are bent on creating illiteracy and censorship throughout the land. Preying on unsuspecting readers Dr. Binder and Censor, together with their evil henchmen, temp readers not to use their imaginations and creativity!!

Brock catches on and quickly transforms into the Mighty BOOKMAN!! He races through the cities of Arizona tracking down and putting a stop to Binder’s iniquity. Using his communicator on his chest to work in tandem with Sven, the technology driven sidekick in constant surveillance at Bookman’s Headquarters, the two bring hope to people all over the world.

When Bookman pursues evildoers, he uses his powers of teleportation to jump around to where the crimes of censorship and illiteracy are taking place. Teleportation is much more efficient and earth friendly than flying.

Authorities know Bookman has been at a crime scene when they find his signature playing card, (used at Bookmans to give customers as they wait for their books to be exchanged) on the forehead of Dr. Binder and Censor’s men.

Just thought since blogging is all the rage "now" (notice the date on our last entry) we would get this going again.

Then, poor Cooper had an accident at delaney's school playground. He faceplanted off the slide platform. It will probably get worse as the days go. Wes has been there and done that.....brings back bad memories for him and Nedra I am sure.
